The colors of 2027 lean green and blue
Paint brands and trend forecasters are announcing their 2027 colors of the year one after another. Put side by side, two things stand out: soft greens and calm blues. Warm, earthy colors are close behind.
The 2027 colors announced so far
Here are the main announcements we could confirm as of October 23, 2026. Each color is listed with the brand's own color number.
For reference, Pantone's color for 2026 was Cloud Dancer (PANTONE 11-4201), announced in December 2025, a soft white with a touch of gray. As far as we could find, Pantone had not yet announced its 2027 color at the time of writing.
Three directions
- Soft greens take the center. Sherwin-Williams, Behr and Benjamin Moore all chose green. From the light Celery to the brownish Grounded, they differ in brightness, but each one feels close to nature.
- Calm blues line up beside them. WGSN and Coloro's Luminous Blue is an energizing blue, while Valspar's Cottage Door is a quiet one. Their characters differ, but interest in blue continues.
- Away from cool whites and grays, toward warm colors. Pro Builder reads this year's picks as a move away from the cool whites and grays of recent years, toward warm, earthy colors. It links the shift to growing interest in well-being and in feeling connected to nature.
How we see it
From here on, this is our own view. The direction for 2027 overlaps closely with the colors COLOR JOURNEY has been collecting.
Rather than using a trend color on its own, a six-color palette in a similar direction, with the roles of background and text already decided, should be easier to use in real work. Try one as a starting point when you want to bring the 2027 mood into a project.
